Summary: Teacher finds fault
Comment: Awful Awful Awful! I am a teacher and was uphauled by the poor educational value this puzzle has. Let me go through the points:
1. the sound quality is terrible, and the sounds don't even sound like animals. We got the zoo animals, transportation and farm animals. When I wasn't looking I couldn't even match one of the animals sound to the animal name. I can't imagine that it would be that challenging to make a duck sound like a duck.
2. The sensors don't always work and when they do it's at an inapropriate time. I'll be in the other room making dinner and all of a sudden the pig (or was it a pig?) will begin squaking
3. The puzzle pieces don't quite fit correctly, so this can be frustrating for the child
So, overall I wouldn't waste your money. It's not your typical nice Melissa and Doug quality. Sad, very sad.

Comment: It would be ten times better if the darn puzzle wouldn't go off when I turned the lights off or on or sometimes even just walk by it. I ended up throwing the couple I had out!

Comment: This is one of my favorite puzzles. I do developmental therapies for children birth-3 and this puzzle is wonderful. The animal sounds made when the puzzle piece is correctly placed in the space encourage language development (children often will repeat/say animal sounds before words). Matching skills, labeling, and eye-hand coordination are also practiced. The puzzle is very sturdy. It would be nice if there was an off/on switch because of moo's in the middle of the night!

Comment: My daughter is 19 months old and is able to do this puzzle. She loves it. The sounds are a little off as far as what they should soung like and it makes noises in the middle of the night, when you turn a light on or off, or if you just touch the piece with your finger. But my daughter is really proud she is able to do it and uses it all the time. Im looking for more to buy right now. I would recommend
